8/5/11 – It’s a weekend long tribute to America’s favorite redhead on MeTV Fresno!  MeTV Network presents ‘Lucy’s 100th Birthday Celebration,’ featuring 100 of the most popular episodes of ‘I Love Lucy,’ ‘We Love Lucy’ and ‘The Lucy Show.’ The party starts on Friday, August 5 at 12 AM PST, and the festivities end on Monday, August 8 at 8 AM PST.*

Valley viewers can watch MeTV Fresno on broadcast station KGMC Channel 43.6, free of charge, simply using an antenna. MeTV Fresno is not currently available on cable or satellite in the Fresno market.

“Lucille Ball was a pioneer of television entertainment and comedy. We’re thrilled to showcase the talent, originality and creativity of the ‘Lucy’ franchise. Lucy, Desi and the entire ingenious team behind the shows are a perfect match for the memorable programming which makes up MeTV,” said Neal Sabin, President of Content and Networks for Weigel Broadcasting Co.

This tribute carries on the MeTV tradition of paying homage to the lives and careers of classic TV stars.

MeTV Fresno, which stands for “Memorable Entertainment Television” is a local affiliate of Chicago-based and Weigel Broadcasting Co. owned, MeTV Network. The network was launched jointly between Cocola Broadcasting Company and Ventura TV Video Appliance Center in Fresno on June 1, 2011 on Cocola's full power KGMC-DT Channel 43.6. Ventura TV is the exclusive local sponsor.

Currently, MeTV is on-air and under contract in more than 50% of the country. Stations to recently launch MeTV include: WFMZ-TV in Philadelphia, WESH-TV in Orlando, WLWT-TV in Cincinnati, KCCI-TV in Des Moines and WKOW-TV in Madison, WI.

"My father started this company 60 years ago with the goal of providing his customers with top brand names in home appliances and electronics at affordable prices. Today, his vision still lives true. In celebration of our company's 60th Anniversary, it seemed only natural that we partnered with a network that delivers some of America's favorite, family-friendly, television shows, such as, I Love Lucy which premiered in 1951 – the same year my father started his company.” stated Mark Shirin, President of Ventura TV Video Appliance Center.
